Shira began singing from the booth at the piano bar where her parents took her every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. There she learned the joys of the music from the Great American Songbook, loving such composers and Rogers and Hammerstein, Sammy Kahn, Cole Porter, and inspired great singers such as Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra.
Shira has been singing in local spiritual communities of all faiths in the Seattle area, including Center for Spiritual Living, Unity of Bellevue, Unity of Seattle, Good Samaratin Episcopal Church, United Methodist Church of Des Moins, and of course, her home community, Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue.
Currently Shira is the Music Director for Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue.
